Frequently asked questions about silicone rubber extrusions manufacturing

Thanks to their wide operating temperature and ease of processing, silicone rubber extrusions are regularly manufactured for use within a wide range of industries and can be adapted through bespoke design technology to meet all manner of requirements.

Whether new to the use of silicone rubber extrusions or a long-standing user with a new application, Advanced Materials would love to take a look at your current requirements.

But to help you know what you need in the first place, we have put together a selection of the most Frequently Asked Questions that we receive about silicone rubber manufacturing.

What in-house tooling facilities do you have?

A big question that we’re often asked is whether we have toolmaking facilities and what sort of technology we have available to create the rubber extrusions that we manufacture.

We have invested in CAD, CAM technology which allows us to design and create the tooling quickly and precisely, whether we need to modify a tool or create a new one from scratch.

We have a well equipped tool room with capabilities to cut our own extrusion tools and joining tools for our customers’ bespoke requirements

Thanks to these facilities, it might be that we already have what you need in-house. With over 8,000 extrusion tools to choose from, many extrusion requests are available without a tooling charge. This includes silicone rubber profiles, tubing and cord as well as rubber strip dies.
