Advanced Materials expands its silicone extrusion manufacturing capacity

Advanced Materials has expanded its silicone rubber extrusion manufacturing capacity by investing in an Iddon extruder machine.

Our company continues to grow and the purchase of the refurbished Iddon unit means that the number of extrusion machines that we operate at our Littlehampton base now stands at eight.

We are committed to high standards of silicone rubber manufacture and to providing our customers with the highest-quality silicone products. That’s why our newest extrusion machinery is from Iddon, a market leader with a long history of excellence and reliability in the sector.

New extrusion machinery means better service for our customers

The addition of the Iddon extruder will help us further improve the silicone rubber extrusion manufacturing service we provide to our customers across the industry spectrum, from food and drink, medical, automotive and aerospace.

The new extrusion machinery increases our production capacity and our operating efficiency. We can now use specific machines for dedicated materials, avoiding the need for frequent cleaning and related downtime. This means that we can process orders quicker and our customers get their products sooner.

Investment further minimises risk of disruption to production schedules

The growth of our manufacturing capacity also means that we are even better equipped to avoid disruption to customer production and delivery schedules as a result of the breakdown of any of our machinery.

Minimising the risk of disruption to silicone extrusion manufacturing activity is an important focus at Advanced Materials. The investment in extrusion machinery significantly strengthens our capacity in this area, forming part of our comprehensive continuity planning and preventative maintenance strategy.

Addition of extrusion machinery helps maintain high safety standards

Furthermore, the fitting of the new extrusion machinery and the updating of our technology help to ensure that we continue to meet the stringent industry health and safety regulations that safeguard our employees and ensure a safe and secure working environment.
